Treasurer’s Report

My final report! Well, I think I’ve had a healthy innings in this post and I thank all members of the Association who have made my life easier in the role. My auditor isn’t available until after the AGM papers go to press but should there be any discrepancy with the account shown here, I will let you know at the AGM.
I leave the Association with a healthy financial footing even though we had a deficit this year. The Committee permitted the Academies, on an exceptional basis, to  carry over the surplus they made last year and although they didn’t spend the whole amount, it has left us with a deficit of £4,102.49. There are more Academy sessions in June, but the costs for those will have to be shown in the 2023-2024
accounts.
The increase in the deposit has worked well in the reimbursement of court fees; only one Club needed an invoice for further funds to cover their conceded games.
England Netball has increased its fees for the 2023-24 season but we have decided not to and thus the composite fees for Essex Met will be
Over18 £42.00 (£39.00 EN, £1.00 LSER, £2.00 Essex Met)
Under 18 £19.50 (£18.00 EN, £1.50 Essex Met)
U14 £11.00 (£10.00 EN, £1.00 Essex Met)
U11 £7.00 (£7.00 EN)
I wish you all a very successful season in 2023-2024 and thank you for having me.

Maggie Fuller
P.S. You aren’t actually getting rid of me completely – I’ll still be scheduling the league, issuing the results cards and I’ll continue to issue the registration/membership cards.
PPS. I’ve just looked at the accounts for when I took over in 1986. We ended that season with total funds of £2,928.41 (current value approx. £5,700.00). This season our total funds stand at £36,587.67. It was never my intention to create such a surplus and you’ll note that our membership fees have remained low for many years.
